Welcome to the site of the Faculty of Metallurgy and Technology, University of Montenegro


 General information


Metallurgy studies began in 1973 as a Department of the Engineering Faculty. The Department of  Metallurgy was transformed to the Faculty of Metallurgy in 1978. Inorganic Technology Studies began in 1990, and Faculty has changed name into Faculty of Metallurgy and Technology. Study Programme Environmental Protection was founded within the Faculty in 2005. Nowadays, the Faculty of Metallurgy and Technology performs teaching and scientific activities in the field of metallurgy, chemical technology and environmental protection. Faculty educates students for obtaining a Bachelor degree, Specialist degree, Degree of Master and Degree of Doctor of Science.

Faculty of Metallurgy and Technology is composed of three study programs:

  • Academic Study Program "Metallurgy"
  • Academic Study Program "Chemical Technology"
  • Applied Study Program "Environmental Protection".
Academic study programs were carried out as basic (three years), specialist (one year), Master (one year) and PhD (three years) study. For the degree of B.Sc the students are required to take a 180 ECTS. For Spec degree the students are required to take additional 60 ECTS including the specialist work. The Master's programs involves next 60 ECTS through 3 courses and master thesis. For the Ph.D. degree an additional five courses and a Ph.D. thesis should be successfully completed.

Applied Study program "Environmental Protection" is implemented as a basic (three years) and specialist (one year) studies. For the degree of B.Sc the students are required to take a 180 ECTS. For Spec degree the students are required to take additional 60 ECTS including the specialist work.

Academic specialist postgraduate study program "Metallurgy" is organized at three modules:

  • Metallurgy of Aluminum
  • Metallurgy of Steel
  • Metallurgical Engineering
Academic Master postgraduate program "Metallurgy" is organized at five modules:
  • Metallurgy of Aluminum
  • Metallurgy of Steel
  • Physical Metallurgy
  • Casting
  • Deformation Processing of Metals
Academic Spec. postgraduate program "Chemical Technology" is organized at four modules:
  • Inorganic
  • Organic
  • Environmental
  • Electrochemical processes and products
Academic Master postgraduate program "Chemical Technology" is organized at three modules:
  • Inorganic
  • Environmental
  • Electrochemical processes and products
